I have been thinking about how to get things done.  The projects in question can be achieved alone or with a group.

Stay with me please, I will get to MS.

The situation: a room full of folding chair that needs to be folded and placed post party.  Partygoers are still in the room.

How do you do it?

My wife is an individual person.  She folded the chairs herself and asked no one for assistance.

I would have barked loudly (but not aggressive or unpleasant) and got the group to pick up the chairs.

My wife would have done this herself.  No assistance needed.

The described situations occurred.  I got the group to pick up the chairs.  And my wife did every chair by herself.  No one at her meeting lifted a finger.  I find that sickening.

One bit of background.  I have played team sports:  football, baseball and basketball.  I was never great, but learned team and interpersonal skills.

My wife was a top golfer and tennis player.  She relied on herself for all parts of the game.  Self-reliance is an important attribute.

Let me introduce a guest speaker:  Robert Di Niro.  If you object to violence, do not click.

The clip shows my frustration with the pharmaceutical part of my team.

The industry strives for individual achievement: profit.

I need the research team to work for a cure.  I appreciate the idea of preventing exacerbations.  Exacerbations degrade our condition.

I am frustrated because AIDS has been contained, not cured, but contained.  I know that MS is an “orphan” disease.  Hence, AIDS got the focus of the scientific industry.

I do not like this paragraph as I type it.  AIDS is awful.  I am sickened by the abuse and discrimination heaped on those who have contracted the condition.  AIDS did have famous people who admitted to the condition:  Rock Hudson, Robert Reed and Howard Rollins to name a few illuminaries who have died from AIDS.   God Bless them and I hope they found peace.

And Magic Johnson became HIV positive.  I remember the week he announced the condition.  I heard Chick Hearn, the longtime Lakers announcer say, “I hope he is okay.  The rumors are concerning.”  Hearn said this before Magic announced his illness.

The blessing was that research stepped up and found EFFECTIVE TREATMENTS for HIV/AIDS.    I am thrilled those scientists have worked tirelessly to achieve this solution.

And I am jealous.

Richard Pryor, Teri Garr and Montel Williams are celebrities with MS.  I am sorry Mr. Pryor died.  But I wish to call on Ms. Garr and Mr. Williams to push for a cure.

We are fighting as individuals.  MS affects each of us differently.

We need the group of all MS patients, family, friends, physicians and everyone else to work together and fight against the tide and push research to focus on curing this condition.

I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I fight everyday just to push and keep moving.

Power to the People.

Power to the Cure.
